"Topher" is an engineer by day and violinist by night. He is a rotating Co-Concertmaster at the Oakland Civic Orchestra where he has played since 2016. Previously, he was a member in San Francisco's Symphony Parnassus, UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, and UC Davis Symphony Orchestra. As a violin performance minor in college, he studied chamber music with violist Ellen Ruth Rose and attended masterclasses with the Alexander String Quartet. He has also collaborated with professional freelance groups through which he has recorded studio albums and performed live rock at The Fillmore. His principal teachers were Hrabba Atladottir, Dan Flanagan, Jolán Friedhoff, and Merrilee Walker.
Topher enjoys swimming, experimenting with coffee, and seeking culinary delights with friends and family. He is an avid classical music listener and manages a massive compendium of reference recordings.
