I have enjoyed music all of my life. I began with singing, then piano lessons at age 6, followed by guitar at age 12.

As an adult, I took up the bass / contrabass / bass fiddle / acoustic bass, and it has become my voice. I gigged as a jazz bassist for many years, and played in several community orchestras. I’ve been a regular in the OCO bass section since 2005.

As an amateur videographer, I’ve posted concert video on YouTube for nearly all OCO concerts since 2011 (YouTube channel: CJDEARMENT).

Since retiring from Oracle a few years ago, I’m working on an OCO documentary video, celebrating the 27+ year history of our orchestra.
