Oakland Civic Orchestra (OCO), ia a thriving community orchestra with a roster of 65-80 musicians from all walks of life from throughout the Bay Area who come for the joy and connection of playing music together. We perform engaging and high-quality, affordable Sunday afternoon concerts in Oakland, at the beautiful Valley Center for the Performing Arts, in a child-friendly, comfortable and ADA accessible environment with plentiful parking.
Oakland Civic Orchestra regularly presents emerging artists, including early career conductors, and frequently engages local professional musicians as guest soloists. We support Composer-in-Residence and Assistant Conductor programs, and regularly perform work by local, living and underrepresented composers, striving to showcase diverse musical voices alongside the orchestral canon.
