Niko Umar-Durr
Violin I, Assistant Concertmaster Member Since 2017 Niko Umar Durr (b. 1995) is a violinist and composer based in the East SF Bay Area. His first lessons began with classical violin at age 6 and classical composition upon entering The Crowden School at age 10. He has had work performed by Left Coast Chamber Ensemble as well as various faculty and students at both Crowden and Oakland School for the Arts. From 2009-2013, Niko was a music director for Harmonikos, a young composer’s forum founded by fellow Crowden students. Performing credits include Young People’s Symphony Orchestra, Neighborhood Church of Castro Valley’s pit orchestra, Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, and Oakland Civic Orchestra. |
